I’m just a week away from Jupiter moving into a one-degree orb of this aspect (as this post I published a year ago reminds me). I feel as I’ve already stepped out of “a situation that had become limiting and restrictive,” and I’m ready and willing to make a move into something more in synch with my skill set. C’mon Jupiter — don’t let me down!

With Mars conjoining my midheaven this weekend, I was curious to see when Jupiter would form the same aspect since it is presently transiting my ninth house. What I found out is that the planet of opportunity will enter my tenth house next October just as it is preparing to go retrograde. An aspect that usually dissipates after a week or so will be a highlight of my horoscope for about eight weeks next year. “Café Astrology” offers the following prediction for the uncommon alignment:

“A fortunate change of circumstances occurs in your work and career! You may receive a promotion, a job offer, a large contract, or salary increase. In one way or other, you step out of a situation that had become limiting and restrictive.”

The most exciting part of this forecast is the idea that I will be less restricted by my circumstances. I’m in the midst of my second Saturn return right now, and although I seem to be handling it quite well, I do feel constrained by my career. I feel as if all I ever do is work. Stepping out of this cycle will be a welcome change. Once Saturn gets off my back right around the end of the year, I can start to look forward to this next major planetary station. Of course, a Jupiter station sounds like a lot more fun than a Saturn station — even for an old goat like me who thrives when stalwart Saturn is calling the shots.

So here is hoping that I’ll be in a much better place next year when I revisit this post. Things aren’t so bad right now, but they could be better. The stars seem to be telling me that they are going to get better. That’s the news I needed to hear this morning as I prepare for Mars’ ingress into my tenth house.

Things are looking up!
