Blood Pressure (source: pexels.com)

I went for my annual physical yesterday. Typically, I’ve been attending to medical matters earlier in the year for a while now. I don’t know why I waited until fall to visit my doctor this year, but I’m glad I did.

I still haven’t visited the lab to get the necessary tests that accompany a physical exam, but so far I’ve got nothing to worry about. My blood pressure was as close to normal as it’s ever been, and my resting heart rate is very low for someone my age. A lifetime leading fitness classes and eating a healthy diet has me feeling like a man half my age.

Anyway, this clean bill of health has me thinking about the changes that I’ve made to my life over the several months. I’m happy to be working less. I’m not so sure that taking on more responsibility at a different job is going to be the secret to my success in the future. Right now, I’m enjoying splitting my time between my two part-time jobs, and neither of them are getting on my nerves in a way that has me running for the door.

But I am going to have to figure out a way to make more money at some point in the future. Financially speaking, I’m not under pressure at the moment, but am feeling like I’m living paycheque to paycheque. With Saturn revisiting my fifth house from mid-October through mid-January, perhaps I’ll finally get creative with the way I spend my spare time again. The was a time in my life when my sidelines were more lucrative than my actual jobs.

Oh well! If I was really that concerned about my financial situation, my blood pressure would probably be higher. Maybe I just need to embrace my new reality. As the saying goes, health is wealth. I’m a much healthier person when I’m not stressed out by a job that isn’t for me. My exam yesterday proved that.
