Star Struck Style

Kids go back to school today in this part of the world.

I’ve always looked forward to this day for a few reasons. For much of my life, I’ve worked retail jobs at the big mall near my house: the biggest mall in Canada and a bona fide tourist trap. The first day of school meant that the mall traffic finally slowed down after a summer of tourist-driven madness. Suddenly, you could catch your breath and do all those things that you hadn’t been able to do for the past few months. You could get back to a routine that didn’t seem so dramatic: a typical Virgo impulse during Virgo season.

Since I’m working in retail again, I’m going to use this time to make a plan for the future. Tomorrow is the day I’ve highlighted as the ideal time to start looking for a job that is worthy of my talents. Transiting Mars enters my first house tomorrow, and transiting Jupiter forms a sextile with my natal Pluto. More importantly, the retailers take a step back to plan for the busiest time of the year. Early September is a great time to seek more gainful employment in the retail business.

I feel as the stars have been telling me to play this waiting game for quite some time. I’m glad that I haven’t jumped the gun and made any rash decisions about my future since I resigned from my full-time job. This summer has provided me with some perspective on where my talents lie as both a coworker and a leader, and I’ve also rediscovered how to be more flexible with my routine. The interpretation of the aforementioned Jupiter/Pluto alignment on astro.com emphasizes those themes:

Either way, you are transformed along with your friends, neighbors and your everyday environment.”

The “transformation” within my everyday environment has already been profound throughout the year, but now it’s time to take it to another level. Even though the kids are headed back to school today, I feel like I’m about to graduate and move onto something more rewarding. What’s more, the stars seem to be on my side.
