Over the past few weeks, I’ve had several people comment on my appearance. Last night, for instance, a guy at the gym where I work compared himself to me as he made a point about the benefits of exercise on one’s mien. I was flattered because that guy is almost twenty years younger than me. He has no idea that I’m pushing sixty.
Anyway, I’m delighted that I resigned from my full-time position at that gym because I really do see a change in the way that I look. And with Mars transiting my twelfth house at the moment, I’m not even at my “seasonal peak” as far as my physical vitality is concerned. When the red planet moves into my first house around Labor Day, I’ll likely enter a six-week phase where I’ll feel like a teenager again. Perhaps I’ll even look like one!
I’m kidding, of course. Still, I’m happy to be dinosaur — a living fossil — that roams the modern world. I deal with people every day that remind me of how well-preserved I am. A lifetime of taking my health and wellness seriously has brought me to this place. Even as I experience setbacks, like physical injuries or the high levels of stress I encountered earlier this year, I learn to manage them by connecting the outward manifestation of those issues to the source of the problem. For instance, the nagging leg pain that I was dealing with earlier this year disappeared once I recognized that I was not only suffering from seasonal affective disorder, but also from a mild bout of depression by working at a job that I hated.
Astrologically speaking, I’d like to believe that I can connect my natal Chiron in the fifth house to the relationship between my outward appearance and my vivacity. However, most astrologers who have written about Chiron tend to focus upon the psychological issues that the asteroid influences. I still have yet to discover a really good resource that discusses the physical manifestations of Chiron in one’s horoscope. If anyone has come across anything like this, this dinosaur would love to hear about it. If you can help me out, please let me know in the comments section or on one of my social media pages. I’m pretty sure that I’m not the only one who has ever made this connection.
