The transiting north node will conjoin my natal Chiron any day now, meaning that it will also oppose my natal Pluto since the two heavenly bodies were just minutes away from forming an exact opposition on the day I was born. Many individuals born in late 1965 and early 1966 have this uncommon alignment in their natal charts, so I won’t be alone in feeling as if this is a significant time in my life.
I found a couple of interesting interpretations of these transits on “12andus,” a website that is often a terrific resource for some more obscure astrological events. The north node/Chiron conjunction is described as follows:
“This is an important time of gaining clarity about your path and purpose. In order to embrace your calling you will have the opportunity to resolve old wounds and traumas that stand in the way of your ability to fully be of service to others.
This is an ideal to follow your inner drive and calling to share your unique perspective as a healer. Your past wounds and trauma give you heightened sensitivity to certain areas of life which are brought to the forefront now because they connect you with your purpose and destiny in important ways.
Trust in your inner guidance now as you will be moved to pursue steps that help you to clear your path and embrace your calling as a healer now for others.”
The interpretation of the north node/Pluto opposition offers some different advice:
“Challenges with authority figures and low vibration displays of power are in focus, yet aren’t getting you closer to your goals.
Rather than flexing your muscles and intimidating those your perceive to be your opposition, you would be better off learning from adversity and incorporating these lessons into your path in the future.
Avoid exerting your will onto others and pursuing dead ends relentlessly even in the face of evidence that things are not going to work your way.
Your intensity and drive will serve you better if you can be open to feedback from others.”
Chiron seems to play a more important role in my own horoscope than Pluto, so I have already resolved to focus upon the former transit. That doesn’t mean that I can’t take both transits into account as I make plans for the future. However, I do feel as if I’ve already been “learning from adversity” as I attempt to embark on a new path to follow. While I may not fully embrace my “calling as a healer,” I do appreciate that maybe I can be a role model at this time by admitting that I don’t know everything. I believe a lot of people who were born in my generation are realizing that that world they live in isn’t the world they were promised: that path turned out to be a proverbial “dead end.” They can either choose to resonate with “low vibration displays of power,” or they can choose a new path where their “purpose and destiny” will mean a brighter future for all of us.
I know which direction I’m headed. Do you?
