Star Struck Style

I was just looking over the August Newsletter on astro.com, and I was fascinated by the forecast. I knew that the outer planets would be harmonizing early in the month, but I didn’t really consider what was going to happen when Mars joined the party. It seems as if a kite will be forming in the sky: a rare and unusual configuration. The newsletter reads as follows:

“On August 7, Mars enters Libra. His combative temperament becomes friendlier, shifting the focus to goals serving the common good. Mars also forms the bottom corner of a prominent kite figure with Saturn, Neptune, Uranus, and Pluto: The trine to Uranus in Gemini becomes exact on the 8th, the opposition to Saturn and Neptune in Aries on the 9th, and the trine to Pluto in Aquarius on August 10. During the same period, on August 9, there is also a Full Moon in Aquarius, which lends additional weight to this rare constellation.

The quality of time during these days offers many excellent opportunities, but you must seize them actively and consciously. The harmonious connection between Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto indicates that completely new possibilities exist in the collective field. Mars, Pluto, and Uranus form a grand trine in the air signs. There is hardly a better time to start manifesting new visions and ideas.

However, Mars also opposes Saturn and Neptune, which form the apex of the kite figure. Doubt, listlessness, and fear of being unable to muster enough energy could now nip promising projects in the bud. What counts now is courage, determination, and the willingness to take full responsibility for your actions. Don’t let doubts and fears paralyze you; take a few steps on your new path. You won’t regret it.

In these extraordinary times, you can achieve many things, even projects that seem hopeless at first glance. Whatever you aspire to, dare to start now! It is an excellent time for true self-empowerment, especially during the Full Moon on August 9, which calls for aligning personal ideals and collective concerns.”

As someone who does not possess any significant planetary placements close to the house cusps where these planets will line up, I won’t overstate how this cosmic event will affect me. The biggest takeaway from this prediction for me will be the idea that I shouldn’t allow my doubts to paralyze me. I’ll have Mars in the twelfth house opposing Saturn: the ruler of my Capricorn sun sign. I’m already paranoid about how that might amplify my innate fear of rejection at a time that I should be seeking more gainful employment.

I need to get over that. When I have the sun in my tenth house, I usually have no problem flying my freak flag; I’m eager to tell the world why I’m fabulous this time of year. I need to remember that in the midst of this major event, I’ll have both the sun and Mercury in my tenth house, and Venus moving into that sector just as the sun exits. For the rest of the summer, the voices in my head that tell me I’m invincible should override the voices in my head that tell me I’m destined to fail.

I also need to look at the bigger picture. If Mars in Libra does indeed shift the focus to “the common good,” I might be a little less paranoid in general. Current events have me on edge. I’m sure that I share that sentiment with almost everyone else. This is quite an optimistic forecast, and I hope that it bears out. We could all use some good news right now.
