Kenzo Jacket (source: Star Struck Style)

Today is Light Jacket Day, my second-favorite holiday after Groundhog Day.

For those of you who don’t know the origin of Light Jacket Day, you’ll need to go watch “Drop Dead Gorgeous,” one of the funniest movies ever made.

Anyway, I adore these holidays that have no strings attached. I don’t need to do anything special. I don’t need to see my family. I don’t need to feel guilty because I didn’t buy presents for anyone.

Astrologically speaking, Light Jacket Day doesn’t happen at a significant time for me like Groundhog Day does. The latter observance happens while the sun is conjoining my natal Mars and Venus. The former occurs at a time of year that I’m generally happy simply because I like the weather. It’s not too hot, not too cold. All you need is a light jacket.

I’m going to celebrate by going out, and I’m going to wear this terrific Kenzo jean jacket that I bought last summer. I haven’t worn it yet since I swapped out my winter wardrobe for my summer staples. I’m also going to give into my urge to enjoy some Venusian pleasures with the sun transiting Taurus and my seventh house. There’s no time like the present to reward myself for putting my head back on straight after a rather uncharacteristic episode of mental, physical and spiritual malaise. Plus, I’m going to be on my best behavior again after this weekend’s new moon.

How do you celebrate this holiday? Let me know in the comments section or on one of my social media pages. I’d love to hear from you.
