“Knowing is Believing” is the title of my horoscope on astro.com describing Jupiter’s ingress into my ninth house tomorrow. The planet already occupied that part of my chart throughout much of the second half of 2024. However, I don’t believe that I made the most of this promising transit because it occurred during my second Saturn return. I believe that I was playing by the rules (or what I thought were the rules) while that event was the predominant feature of my horoscope. This time around, I’m feeling quite unconstrained — as one might expect with a Jupiter ingress influencing my chart. I expect those feelings to grow even stronger over the next few months. The aforementioned forecast predicts the following:

“At this time, the perspective of your life can be expanded tremendously. You may have opportunities for extensive travel, for learning and also for teaching others in either a formal or an informal setting. Your desire to learn, however, is very great, and you will probably do much more reading than usual and about more abstract and profound subjects. Philosophy, metaphysics and religion are typical studies associated with this influence. And you will encounter these not only as books, but as real issues in your life. Your need is for real and useful knowledge about your world.

This is a good time to become involved in a human-potential effort or some other consciousness-raising group. There are many such groups around now, and you should pick the one that seems most suitable for you.

If you are a writer or have any desire to be one, this is an excellent time for it, because this influence is associated with publishing and other communications media that reach the world at large.

As you are exposed to a broader world, your views on life will change. This is a very powerful maturing influence in the most positive sense; in other words, you become wiser now than at any other time in your life.

Along with the possibility of travel to foreign countries, there is also the likelihood that you will become increasingly involved with foreign persons or lands either in your business or in your personal life.

The main effect of this time is to make your consciousness grow so much that you can no longer live with your old prejudices and beliefs. You must ‘know’ rather than just believe, and the more you can replace belief with knowledge, the better off you will be.”

I already discussed this ingress in a post titled “Expand Your Horizons.” What made me want to come back to this topic again is the focus on “the world at large.” I’ve allowed my world to become very small over the past several years. Just yesterday, for instance, I started fixing up my old trail bike because I’m actually going to have the time to ride it this summer. When I thought about it, I realized that I probably haven’t been on it for a decade or more. That all needs to change. Getting out into the “broader world” is good for my soul.

I’m also encouraged by the notion that I may start writing again. Maintaining this blog has made it easy for me to write almost everyday without feeling as if it is a chore. Perhaps I’ll be able to write something profound again. Stranger things have happenend.

Whatever path I choose on this new journey, I’m thrilled to be starting it — or restarting it in this case. I feel as if the shackles are off and I’m ready to rediscover the world around me. Whether or not I find myself replacing “belief with knowledge” is yet to be seen, but I’m going to keep an open mind about my prospects. I might be coming up on my sixtieth birthday, but I’m not going to allow myself to become one of those old fools who forgets that there is a whole world outside their door. No one has time for that.
