Springboard (source: pexels.com)

“Springboard” is the title of my horoscope on astro.com tomorrow. The passage describes Mars’ imminent trine with my natal Chiron. With Mars turning direct just a couple of weeks ago, this is an aspect that was defining the first couple of weeks of February for me. The prediction reads as follows:

“You are energetic and self-assured today, and you feel less helpless and at the mercy of others than might usually be the case. Therefore, this is a good time for telling someone about your feelings or desires. If you are currently in a steady relationship, you can now talk to your partner about needs of yours that you usually donʹt like to talk about. The quality of time is on your side if, for once, you want to act out of character without falling flat on your face. If you are prepared to take such a step, you will find that you wonʹt meet with lack of understanding or rejection. This influence can also be of significant help with all therapeutic treatments and physical challenges.”

I was definitely not energetic when this alignment first occurred, but it did correspond with a conversation I had with my boss where I admitted that I was no longer happy with my job. Yesterday, I resigned from my job. In my resignation letter, I wrote “I need to be a happier person.”

Anyway, I hope that my resignation proves to be a move in the right direction. I would be thrilled if this decision was a “springboard” that would help to propel me into a happier place. I’d love to dive right into a new job that didn’t feel so thankless. Curiously, Mars’ trine to my natal Chiron also means that it is forming a sextile to my natal Pluto. The astro.com forecast for that transit offers me even more encouragement:

At this time you may have to strive very hard to get anywhere but if so, your goals when you do reach them will be more permanent and far reaching. If you are unclear about what you are doing in some area, this is a good time to look inside yourself to find out what you really want to do. You should not and probably cannot move until you are clear about your objectives. In examining yourself, you may discover hitherto unknown psychological forces that you can use to gain your ends. A considerable change in self-understanding may be one consequence of this influence. If you are at all clear about your purpose, this influence should assure you of success in any undertaking that you become involved in now. Proceed full steam ahead and do not worry. Just avoid stepping upon other people’s toes unnecessarily, because that can have dangerous consequences later on.

The funny thing about that passage is the line about “stepping upon other people’s toes.” Believe me, I wanted to burn the house down on my way out the door when I composed my resignation letter, but I decided not to be petty. And, to be honest, finding a job that makes me happy is my number-one priority. All the other bullshit is irrelevant.

So, I hope that this move is going to be my “springboard” into a brighter future. I guess I’ll find out soon enough . . .
