Dam (source: pexels.com)

Mars goes direct today. On December 6, the red planet turned retrograde in Leo. It reentered Cancer on January 6, and it made it all the way back to 17°01″ where it is stationed right now.

I am feeling this Mars station acutely as the planet is hovering in a tight square with my ascendant. I had a meeting at work this week where I let it all hang out with my supervisors — something I never do. I rarely get worked up enough to let anyone see me in such a vulnerable, emotional state, but that’s where I am right now: ready to burst. Either I let the floodgates open or the dam is going to break.

Everyone is going to be feeling like this to some degree over the next several days. Cancer is a protective, defensive sign, but it’s also a sign where instinct rules. People are going to be trusting their instincts and defending themselves in ways that may seem irrational to the rest of us. In about two weeks from now, when the Pisces sun forms a trine with the planet (and Mars starts to pick up the pace), the pressure will start to dissipate, but the damage will done. Once Mars moves into a productive trine with Saturn in Pisces at the end of March, the clean-up can begin.

It’s going to get messy before that happens. Germany has an election today that is going have a huge impact upon the fate of the free world. America is continuing to flirt with fascism and its citizens are barely paying attention. The next couple of weeks are going to be pivotal for them. Here in Canada, the momentum seems to be swinging back toward the side of goodness, so I have a glimmer of hope for what my own future holds.

Personally speaking. my outburst the other day was cathartic. I need to remember that Mars is about to make its final contact with my Cancer midheaven now that it has turned direct, and that happens just as the aforementioned Saturn trine occurs. This may all work out for the best — only time will tell.

How are you feeling today? Are you shoring up your defenses, or is the dam ready to burst? Let me know in the comments section or on one of my social media pages.
