My fabulous snake-print shirt arrived on Wednesday, just in time to welcome the Year of the Snake. I haven’t worn it yet, but I’m planning to put it on and show it off sometime this week. The actual Year of the Snake arrives on Monday morning in this part of the world, and I’ve got plans to go out.
Just typing the words “I’ve got plans to go out” thrills me. I’ve been such a shut-in lately. I’ve had rough winters before, but this one has been different. It’s been so different, in fact, that I’ve sought professional help to figure out why it has been so rough. I’m glad I did because I’m already feeling better about myself and my future.
On the topic of my future, I do need to resolve to be more fabulous on a regular basis. The Aquarius new moon this week occurred just a couple of degrees ahead of my natal Mars. Yesterday, the sun conjoined my natal Mars. On Monday, the sun will conjoin my natal Venus. With Mercury catching up to the sun in a few days from now, it will also form the same conjunctions in Aquarius. What’s more, Jupiter is parked in the sky in a nearly-exact trine to my natal Mars while transiting Mars is conjunct my midheaven and trine Uranus.
Everything in my chart is telling me to put my energy into flying my freak flag again. I feel as if I have been somewhat suppressed over the past few years. Of course, I had transiting Saturn conjoining my natal Mercury, my natal sun, my IC and my natal Saturn. If I felt like the universe had thrown a wet blanket over me, I had every reason to feel that way. But I’m finally moving out of that phase and feeling as if I need to cultivate the more outgoing part of my personality again. I’m feeling that Aquarian energy. I want to stand out in the crowd.
That might be easier said than done, but just declaring my intentions to the universe seems like the right thing to do as I greet the arrival of the Year of the Snake. As I mentioned in a post I published a couple of days ago, I’ve got opportunities galore in my Western chart this coming spring. Those opportunities are more likely to happen if I’m the first person you notice when you walk into the room. I need to shed this dull old skin I’ve been wearing for the past few years and show off exactly who I am again.
My time has come.
