The sun enters my fourth house tomorrow right around noon. I’m not really looking forward to the transit since I already feel quite housebound this time of year: I live in a place that is cold and dark during the winter. Still, I suppose that I could use the time that I’m stuck inside more productively, especially while transiting Saturn is forming a sextile to my natal sun and retrograde Mars is about to conjoin my midheaven. The planets are telling me to get my shit together.
And they aren’t the only ones! “Café Astrology” offers the following forecast for the annual transit:
“The Sun is spotlighting your house of family and home for the next few weeks, and these areas are your instinctive focus during this period. Your family, home, property concerns, roots, and heritage come into focus and become a source of pride. You are likely quite preoccupied with feelings of security and your inner experiences.
This is a time when you send down roots and seek a feeling of belonging. You could be thrust into a position of leadership on the home front. Ego confrontations with family members are possible now, but the best way to handle this energy is to do your best to strengthen your relationship to your family and your home base. This is a time to do what you can to build trust in your family life and a strong foundation within yourself, so that regardless of what you meet in the outside world over the next months, you have a secure place to return to.
Besides spending more time tending to domestic affairs, the focus can be on cultivating and nourishing your inner foundations that support you and your growth. This is a time to collect yourself — to fill your well, so to speak.”
I actually feel as if I’ve already filled my well; my recent Saturn return had me taking a step back to evaluate where I would be headed in the future. Now I’m starting to feel as in my energy levels are returning to normal, and that my sense of ambition might actually take me somewhere. Yet I will try to follow the advice that this forecast offers because my living spaces could use a little attention. I’d be thrilled if my home became a “source of pride.” Last year around this time, I was refinishing my Breuer chairs and letting the world know how proud I was to reclaim those family heirlooms. Perhaps I’ll start a similar project during this upcoming transit.
That sounds like a plan . . .
