I’m feeling very Capricorn-like today. Like a mountain goat staring down at the world from up above, my superiority complex is at its seasonal peak. For that reason, it’s probably a good idea for me to make a new year’s resolution for when the new moon arrives in a few days.

At the moment, I have transiting Mars in my Capricorn-ruled tenth house. It’s going to be there for about four more weeks until it conjoins my midheaven and backtracks into my ninth house until sometime around April Fool’s Day. I’m going to let that transit set the theme for me in 2025 just like I let my second Saturn return set the theme for me in 2024. It’s kind of a big deal to have Mars hovering around one of the angles of my horoscope — especially the one that corresponds to my sun sign. “Café Astrology” interprets Mars’ conjunction with the midheaven as follows:

“You are more than willing now to take charge of your life, particularly on a professional level. It’s a time when you face your responsibilities head-on rather than avoid or ignore them. You may be called upon to take charge or take the lead in some significant way. Your energy for professional matters is very strong now.”

I’m feeling that way already with Mars in my tenth house, and the fact that I’ve already experienced this conjunction back in October. “Café Astrology” offers the following interpretation of Mars’ transit through the tenth house:

“This transit stimulates your ambition and/or your desire to be recognized for your accomplishments. Whether it’s professional or personal, you are likely to have an increased desire for others to notice you. This can be a good time to become self-employed or start a business if other factors (and Mars itself) are favorable. Conflicts with those in authority are possible now. You may pour more energy into self-promotion or business/career activities.”

My current situation at my place of work is tense right now because there are never any rewards for doing well, but there is always plenty of criticism for not achieving perfection. The organization is run by a cabal of Virgo perfectionists who are incapable of turning the mirror on themselves. For that reason, I’m not sure how much longer I’m going to put up with their bullshit.

Anyway, that brings me back to my new year’s resolution. In 2025, I’m going to resolve to find something better to do with my time. That could mean that I’ll still be working at the same job, or it could mean that I’ll find something else to do. Either way, I’m going to make myself happier by acknowledging that I have earned my spot at the top of the mountain. If the people I work for cannot recognize that, they can go fuck themselves. I’m not going to give them any more of my time.

Opportunities for me to excel will be there for the taking throughout the first few months of 2025. Just as Mars will make its final conjunction with my midheaven, Jupiter will return to my ninth house where it will conjoin my natal Jupiter. Shortly afterward, Saturn will move into my sixth house: a place where it will perform a lot better for a Capricorn like me who thrives on a well-rounded routine.

I’m encouraged to see the stars lining up in this fashion, and I’m encouraged to know that my self-confidence is peaking at a time traditionally associated with making positive changes. I need a change. If that means that I need to seek out new opportunities, I’m going to be happy to do that. Finding something better to do with my time needs to be my focus going forward.
