Star Struck Style

I was just browsing through some S/S 2025 lookbooks to see where the designers think fashion is going. Many of them are pushing tailored garments as an alternative to the athleisure era, but I don’t believe that’s where the stars are going to be leading us in the not-too-distant future.

I’m predicting big “burn it all down” energy to pervade the universe as both Saturn and Neptune vacillate over the Pisces/Aries cusp in 2025. I’m also getting “power to the people” vibes from Pluto’s recent ingress into Aquarius. When you add Uranus’ shift from Taurus into Gemini in 2026 into the mix, things get even more interesting.

I expect punk to make a major comeback, and not the sort of commercial, candy-coated punk that appeals to rebellious tweens, but rather the aggressive, angry punk that wants nothing to do with “fashion” and the luxury conglomerates that dictate the trends. The backlash is coming. It’s inevitable.

For that reason, I’d bet on punk if I was a kid who was thinking about how I would like to craft my image over the next few years. I wouldn’t be coveting the double-breasted blazers and high-waisted, pleated trousers that so many well-funded designers are trying to make into “the next big thing.” I’d be blazing my own trail in clothes that tell the people who sold my future to the highest bidders to go fuck themselves.

Change is coming, and I can’t wait to see what this new generation is going to be wearing when they stand up to the establishment.
