Yesterday I published a post declaring that I would like to spend the next couple of months focused upon those things that make me happy that don’t cost a lot of money. Last night’s new moon in my second house and Venus’ imminent ingress into my fourth house made me realize that now is the time to regain some control of my finances by reevaluating what I spend my money on. However, December also has another theme attached to it. In the middle of the month, Jupiter will slip back into my eighth house where it will remain until the end of March.

I made a big deal of Jupiter’s ingress into my eighth house, publishing a couple of posts about the planet’s movement through the sector of my chart associated with many of life’s inevitabilities. Looking back, Jupiter’s vacillation between the houses of my horoscope has been challenging for me. Sometimes you get lucky and the planet spends a year or so bestowing its influence in a single house. At other times its retrograde cycles give you a few months of this and a few months of that. You can barely grasp the “theme” the planet brings to your life before it moves on to another house.

What I have noticed by revisiting my previous posts is that I was successful in reigning in my spending while Jupiter was transiting my eighth house. When it moved into my ninth house, I became far more reckless with my money. When I complain on this blog that I often purchase fancy designer clothes for the lifestyle I wish I had, that is the sort of thing that happens when Jupiter is whispering in my ear from my ninth house.

Now that I know that, I can put a little more energy into yesterday’s resolution to eliminate much of my debt load by enjoying many of life’s “simple pleasures.” I feel good about this cycle I have entered and my declaration to erase some red ink off my proverbial balance sheet. I’ve got four months to get my shit together. I think I can do this . . .
