Feet on the Ground (source: pexels.com)

The new moon arrives this coming Saturday in my second house. “Café Astrology” offers the following prediction for the annual event:

“Heightened sensitivity to the world of the five senses, to your physical environment, and to the security you gain from the solid ground you have built for yourself is in order for this period of time. Attunement to, and appreciation of, the physical world of the senses is the focus, and this is a time to start fresh in terms of how you arrange your life in order to feel a sense of value and worthiness. Financial issues come into focus. Setting realistic financial goals, as well as formulating such things as budgets and other sensible financial planning projects, will be favored during this time. Discovering ways to increase your income is featured. It is also a wonderful time for taking moments to pleasure yourself through earthy, tactile, and comforting endeavors.”

I already feel as if I’m on solid ground with the final occurrence of my second Saturn return lining up this week. I’m also taking moments to pleasure myself quite regularly. If you can’t pleasure yourself, then who can you pleasure?

Anyway, I really need to continue upon this path for when Donald Trump fucks up the North American economy. I don’t want to be collateral damage as his crime syndicate masquerading as a government loots the treasury, but I live in a province that is dependent upon oil exports to the USA. My resilience in a recession will be determined by the debt load I carry into an economic downturn.

So, I need to get my shit together. In the meantime, I can enjoy “earthy, tactile, and comforting endeavors,” just as I always do. I’m a decadent person, but I often take pleasure in simple things that don’t cost a lot of money. For instance, I went for a massage yesterday that was covered by my health-spending account at work. Today I’m planning to spend my day alone at home smelling the scented candles I’ve lit, cooking some pasta, doing some yoga and listening to music. I might even do a little “inventory” of my wardrobe to rediscover some of the long-forgotten things in the back of my closet.

This needs to be the theme of my life going forward for the next several months. I don’t have a lot of big changes coming up in my horoscope for a while except for Jupiter’s retrograde ingress into my eighth house from the middle of December through the end of March: a period where my financial situation could change substantially — hopefully for the better.

Whatever happens, I feel good knowing that I have a plan. As a Capricorn, it’s in my nature to have my feet on the ground. Until Saturn catches up to Neptune next summer, I should be able to continue upon this path.

Wish me luck!
