Big Ideas (source: pexels.com)

Mercury stations this evening in Sagittarius barely a degree away from forming an opposition with my natal Jupiter.

I have to be careful during this transit. It tends to make me want to find the easy way out of any situation. Fortunately, for me, Mercury and Jupiter were in almost this exact position when I was born: in mutual reception and in the respective houses over which they rule. For that reason, I’m somewhat empowered when they line up in this fashion. My mind is sharp at the moment. I can see both the forest and the trees: the Mercurial details and the Jovian big picture.

So, I’m going to do my best to make the most of this alignment as it characterizes this week. “Café Astrology” offers the following advice to someone experiencing this transit:

“You may have big ideas under this influence, but you may also overestimate your abilities or underestimate the situation you’re in! Alternatively, the information you receive now could be impractical or lead you astray. Avoid jumping into something without planning ahead, as important details are too easy to overlook right now. Also, avoid making promises you may not be able to fulfill, and be sure to read the fine print! In a search to attach greater meaning to your thoughts and ideas, you may exaggerate, overstate, or overestimate. Others could disappoint you with facts that run counter to your own ideals and desires.”

I don’t believe that I need to worry about making promises that I can’t keep this week because I have the week off from work. By the time I go back next Monday, Mercury will have backed off its opposition to Jupiter. I do believe that I got lucky picking this week to take some vacation time.

So, I’ll probably be keeping most of my big ideas to myself for now, and I’ll probably be keeping my big mouth shut so that I don’t get myself into trouble. The actual opposition of transiting Mercury to my natal Jupiter won’t occur until January 3 after Mercury goes direct. That’s a great time for these planets to line up in this fashion because almost all the people who occupy a higher rung on the ladder at my place of work will be off for the holidays. How much trouble can I get in if there is no one around to listen to the “big ideas” mentioned in the forecast above? I feel as if the universe is looking out for me at the moment. It’s nice to feel as if things are looking up.
