Mars conjoins my midheaven later this week. I’m looking forward to the planet’s ingress into my tenth house because I could use a cosmic kick-in-the-pants. Even though the red planet’s upcoming retrograde phase is going to take it back into my ninth house from late January through the entire month of March, I’m focused upon the immediate future and just what this shift in the stars might mean for me. “Café Astrology” describes the initial contact with my midheaven as follows:
“You are more than willing now to take charge of your life, particularly on a professional level. It’s a time when you face your responsibilities head-on rather than avoid or ignore them. You may be called upon to take charge or take the lead in some significant way. Your energy for professional matters is very strong now.”
The shift of Mars into my tenth house promises more of the same:
“This transit stimulates your ambition and/or your desire to be recognized for your accomplishments. Whether it’s professional or personal, you are likely to have an increased desire for others to notice you. This can be a good time to become self-employed or start a business if other factors (and Mars itself) are favorable. Conflicts with those in authority are possible now. You may pour more energy into self-promotion or business/career activities.”
I’m not really worried about “conflict with those in authority” because I really need the people in charge to hear me out. There are so many things wrong with the way that we are doing business right now and I’ve got an army of people behind me who support my vision for change. I even have a meeting with my boss booked this week where we can discuss my plans right around the same time that Mars is within a one-degree orb of a conjunction with my midheaven.
All the same, I’m not ruling out the possibility that another professional opportunity may arise while Mars is transiting my tenth house. Every time I visited a luxury store in Las Vegas during my recent trip I was reminded of how much I miss working in retail.
Anyway, I’m sure that this change will do me good. As a Capricorn, I typically thrive when planets are transiting my tenth house. With Mars turning retrograde in my tenth house, moving back to my ninth house for a short time, and then returning to my tenth house, I’ve got about six months to make the most of this upcoming cycle. If that means being bossy and argumentative, that’s fine with me. I can take a step back next June . . .
