Star Struck Style

I just noticed that Venus slips into my second house on October 3: just a few days before my trip. “Café Astrology” offers the following interpretation of the transit:

“As the natural ruler of this sector of the chart, Venus feels right ‘at home’ here. This is a rather content position for Venus, although there can be some restlessness when it comes to money and spending it — you are more inclined to want more things around you! Financial security and enjoyment of the good things in life are important to you, although you also value simple pleasures. The ability to relate well with others might enhance your own personal finances during this period. You may find yourself in a position in which there is a blending of financial matters with social or public affairs. This is a stable position for love matters and close relationships. You value those who make you feel comfortable, and familiarity is more important to you than someone new during this cycle.”

I hope that I’m feeling “rather content” during this upcoming cycle. My fear is that I’ll want “more things” instead of “simple pleasures.” It would be nice if I spent the rest of autumn getting my garden into shape for next spring. Every time I go outside lately, I’m reminded that this time of year seems to feed my soul. While my possessions and other second-house matters will be on my mind, I find myself satiated by the sights and smells of the season. I can make more with less during this transit whereas others might be inclined to succumb to their own innate decadence.

Of course, I won’t be out of the woods until Venus, Mercury and the sun exit my second house in early November, and I’ve got a Vegas vacation to get through in the meantime. Still, I’m going to go focus on those things that make me comfortable and content while the stars are moving through this part of my chart.
