I noticed that Jupiter is about to move into orb to form a square with my natal Uranus. “Astrodienst” describes the uncommon transit as follows:
“The effects of this influence can vary considerably. On the one hand, it can indicate a ‘bolt out of the blue‘ lucky chance or change in fortune, a sudden opportunity that significantly changes your life. But on the other hand, it can indicate such restlessness and impatience with restrictions that you create a major disturbance in your life in your efforts to become free.”
I can buy either scenario. Fortunately, I’m not in a place right now where “restlessness and impatience” could see me causing a “major disturbance” in my own life, but anything can happen! Jupiter is also forming a square to my natal Pluto/Chiron opposition. Anyone born in late 1965 or early 1966 is experiencing the same thing. In about six years from now, we’ll experience it again as Jupiter squares our natal planets from the other side of our charts.
So, why did I choose to publish a blog post about this particular alignment? It’s wishful thinking, I suppose. I’d be delighted to experience a “change in fortune.” The last time this happened in 2019, I found out that the store I was working at had been sold and that I would soon be looking for a new job. The news did come as a surprise, but that event led me to where I am right now.
The big difference between that square and this one is that Jupiter will be turning retrograde soon, meaning that I will experience this alignment again in November, and then once more in April. For that reason, I’m not expecting a “bolt out of the blue” as much as I’m expecting to hear some rumbles in the distance, like an approaching thunderstorm. I just need to pay attention to what it’s about to bring. I usually welcome thunderstorms because I’m a gardener and the heavy rains keep me from spending hours and hours watering my plants. But occasionally a storm comes along that reminds me of the old adage “be careful what you wish for” as it rips my garden to shreds.
Whatever is about to happen, I’m going to pay attention to the cosmic weather forecast, but I’m not going to jump to any conclusions. My “impatience with restrictions” right now is only going to get worse as retrograde Saturn moves back toward my natal Saturn where it’s going to park itself in November, but that alignment should also keep me from doing anything rash if this “change of fortune” turns out to be a change in the wrong direction.
But that’s not going to happen, right? I guess I’ll find out soon enough . . .
