Kamala Harris (source: Wikipedia)

I wrote a post about Kamala Harris back in 2018 where I gushed over the then-Senator. However, I didn’t have a birth time to put her chart into context. Since then, her chart has been updated on astrotheme.com, and what a chart it is!

Harris was born on October 20, 1964, just as the full moon was about to become exact. Her ascendant is in Gemini, only five minutes away from her first-house north node. As she was born with an opposing sun and moon, that places her Part of Fortune in the seventh house of her horoscope, only four minutes away from forming an exact opposition with her north node.

It’s such a unique configuration! For those astrologers who specialize in fate, this is the sort of chart that inspires entire chapters of books (someone else has probably written them already). While the astrology of fate isn’t exactly my specialty, I will say that this chart has the hallmarks of someone who was destined for greatness. It is also a remarkably balanced layout. The sun in Libra is flanked by Mercury in Scorpio and Venus in Virgo. Mars is in Leo, Jupiter is in Taurus, and Saturn is in Aquarius. Besides the sun/moon opposition, the most notable aspect is the close trine of the fifth-house sun with the ninth-house Saturn: the most elevated planet in her horoscope.

This is the chart of a charismatic, ideals-driven individual who values both equal justice for all and the convincing power of her own words. It’s no surprise that she became a lawyer and eventually Attorney General of California. It’s also the chart of someone who is genuinely concerned about the fate of others. Her Pisces midheaven and Jupiter in the twelfth house endow her with compassion for others. Curiously, her first, second and tenth houses are void of planets. Her fifth house planets indicate a healthy ego, but with those other parts of her chart vacant, she’s not in the game for ego gratification, personal gain or the pursuit of power for its own sake.

It’s exciting for me to revisit this topic with the information I didn’t have when I first wrote a profile of Kamala Harris. It’s also exciting for me to know that someone that I have admired for so long might be the person that finally ends the political career of Donald Trump now that she is officially running against the Orange Menace to become the President of the United States of America. The fact that it’s a mixed-race woman who represents everything he’s not makes me hopeful for the future of America. I didn’t think I’d ever feel this way again. I can’t wait until November!
