Jupiter forms a square with my natal Saturn tomorrow, and there has been a definite change in my way of thinking over the last few days as the aspect came into orb. I’ve been the grasshopper in the fable “The Grasshopper and the Ant” for a while. “Café Astrology” has reminded me that I ought to become more like the ant before it’s too late. My go-to resource for interpretations of transits that quickly get to the point describes the alignment as follows:

“You’re doing a balancing act between an urge to grow and the need to set limits. As well, your optimism seems to compete with the need to tame expectations. Getting serious or disciplining and moderating your behavior may be in order, which can dampen your enthusiasm. It can be difficult to accept blocks, delays, or limits, but doing so may ultimately put you ahead. This is a time when you become painfully aware of where you’ve overextended yourself or overdone it. However, remind yourself that you’ll be more prosperous and satisfied later if you attend to some details now.”

No one needs to remind me that I will be more “prosperous and satisfied later” if I just behave myself now. Still, I’m going to take the suggestion to heart. In fact, yesterday I took a brief “inventory” of a few of the details I need to attend to. I want to see some progress in those matters before the weather turns cold in this part of the world. I’ve got some good things going on in my horoscope later this year, and I would like to be in a position to enjoy those cosmic blessings when they arrive.

So, yesterday morning I made a promise to myself to moderate my behavior before I even realized that this Jupiter aspect was going to be the one planetary transit that would most likely establish the character of the week ahead. I guess I knew it was coming even if I didn’t know it was coming; it’s funny how astrology works that way.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to go do something productive while the sun is shining . . .
