I was looking at the 2024 ephemeris when I realized just how eventful this year will be for the kids of my generation. Not only will many of us born in 1965 and 1966 be in the thick of our Saturn return, but we’ll also be experiencing transiting Saturn’s opposition to our natal Pluto and Uranus positions. What’s more, Saturn will also be conjoining our natal Chiron position as it opposes the aforementioned planets.
Personally, I believe that I’m going to be fine. I’m a Saturnian character because of where my Capricorn sun resides. While Saturn is vacillating between these points, it will be forming a supportive sextile to my natal sun. Also, I’m an adult now with a few more decades behind me. However, I can see many people my age experiencing one of the more common effects of a second Saturn return, and that is the feeling that if they don’t follow their dreams at this time, that they might not get another chance. There’s some “now or never” energy in the universe when these planets align in this manner.
For most of these fifty-eight or fifty-nine year-olds, there may be a reason that they need to make haste. For me, I feel like I’ve got plenty of time ahead of me, but I see how many others my age get around the gym where I work. They probably shouldn’t let this moment pass without taking a serious look at what their “golden years” might be like. Saturn’s opposition to Pluto/opposition to Chiron in their charts should provide them with both the impetus to transform what’s left of their lives and the initiative to cure what ails them (if that is even possible). Limitations may pop up unexpectedly with Uranus involved, but those same limitations could be the catalyst for positive change.
It’s going be a lot to handle for most individuals who share this unique alignment of natal planets, and even more challenging for those born with Jupiter in a square to these other planets. Nevertheless, these are generational influences that should be treated as “background music” in one’s life — not as the primary theme. For that, it’s probably wise to look at the house where the Saturn return is occurring. For instance, these events are about to happen in my fifth house. Perhaps that is why I’m looking at these alignments as an opportunity to build my confidence and project a more well-grounded version of myself to the world. Those are lessons that I probably should have learned during my first Saturn return, but we all know that it’s rare for anyone to take that cosmic lesson to heart. The “poor me” energy of that transit is a lot harder to take when you still think you’re a kid.
Wherever Saturn resides in your chart, take this time to consider what this unusual set of cosmic circumstances means to you, and ask yourself whether or not you believe that you’ll live to see a third Saturn return. If that doesn’t seem like a possibility, then maybe this is a sign from the universe that it is indeed “now or never.” Do with that knowledge what you will.
