Star Struck Style

The transiting sun squares my natal Chiron today about nine hours before transiting Chiron squares my natal sun. Yikes!

This astrological double-whammy is something that I could see coming. In fact, Chiron moves so slowly that I’ve been dealing with its square for about eighteen months already. Nevertheless, I’m going to try to be on my best behavior over the next couple of days so that I don’t find myself overreacting to any perceived slights that come my way. Tense aspects to Chiron can open up old wounds. What’s more, the kids of my generation also experience the sun forming a square to Pluto at the same time as it squares Chiron since the two heavenly bodies were in an opposition for much of 1965 and 1966. Every June and every December we deal with this recurring transit, so I’m not the only one in this boat!

I am convinced that my Chiron return a few years ago made me a better person. I’m far less likely to blame people for their problems than I was before. I’d rather offer help than deliver a lecture about “how we got here.” Chiron taught me to be a better teacher and to lead by example, just like the mythical character for which the asteroid is named. So, I’m going to try to remember that when these aspects make me feel like pointing my fingers at others in my orbit, every negative thought I have doesn’t need to become a diatribe against the people around me.

So, I’m going to try to keep to myself and not say anything that will get me into trouble. I’m feeling loquacious with both the sun and Mercury transiting my third house, but I’m also feeling as if there are a lot of people out there with bigger problems than me while so many of the outer planets are close to being stationary — not just Chiron. I don’t need to get on the bad side of someone who is having a bad year while I’m just having a bad day.

And on that note, I’m just going to shut my mouth and get on with my day . . .
