Star Struck Style

Transiting Mercury conjoins my natal Mercury today. Because of Mercury’s upcoming retrograde cycle, this transit will recur again on Christmas day and then again on January 11.

What’s interesting about this astrological event is that it seems to make me a big fan of my own voice. I have tremendous confidence in my ideas when Mercury returns to its natal position in my horoscope, and I can’t get enough of my own “writer’s voice.” I just spent the last several minutes scrolling through old posts and laughing at the terrible jokes I’ve made on this blog.

Curiously, I went looking for a photo of Christina Aquilera with a microphone to illustrate this post because she always seems so self-satisfied when she hits the right note. Her natal sun is just minutes away from my natal Mercury. Perhaps there is something about that degree of the zodiac that is a little smug and overconfident.

Anyway, it feels good to feel so good. I’m having a delightful week while the stars are on my side. I try not to get ahead of myself, but I’m going to take a deeper dive into my chart to see what else the holiday season has in store. Maybe I’ll make it through Christmas without turning into the Grinch while Mercury is so favorably situated in the sky.
