Here’s a photo of one of the Hermès boutiques in Las Vegas. This one is in the Wynn Plaza. I didn’t make it to the Wynn this time, but I actually bought something at the Hermès location in the Crystals.
The reason that I didn’t make it that far was that I was traveling with people who seem to burn out a little quickly during our shopping trips. That’s no big deal to me, but it just makes me believe that I would love to go to Vegas by myself one day. I don’t want to anyone to believe that I’m antisocial, but sometimes I do feel tethered to my traveling companions. I’m far more physically energetic than most of the people in my immediate orbit.
Anyway, my trip was fun and I’m very glad that I finally got away. Going on a vacation while the sun, Mercury and Mars were all transiting my first house reminded me of how much I enjoy rewarding myself for my normally self-disciplined behavior. I need to get away a couple of times a year because being a decadent mess for a few days every now and then is good for my soul.
In the meantime, however, I’m going to work on myself. I need to use this cosmically-blessed time of year to do a few more things that make me feel good about myself, like getting some exercise and shaving my face (it’s been a week). Even though I’ve got a little work to do and a mountain of laundry to get through, I’m still on vacation for a couple more days. I need to relax and try to not worry about what anyone else is doing, or whether or not they are keeping up to me.
This is my time of year and I can’t allow myself to forget it . . .
