Aria Las Vegas (source: Facebook)

I was just thinking about my upcoming trip to Las Vegas, so I pulled up my friend’s chart just to see if she was going to have anything lucky happening in her horoscope during our visit. That’s when I realized just how close her natal sun is to forming a harmonious aspect to my natal Neptune.

I don’t know why I haven’t noticed this before. The two planets are just under two minutes apart from being in a sextile: her first-house Sun is at 21°32″ Pisces, and my second-house Neptune is at 21°34″ Scorpio. I have discussed how I believe that having Neptune in my second house accounts for the way I like to “escape” to Las Vegas a couple of times a year. But realizing that I escape with someone whose natal sun in Pisces forms such a concordant aspect with my natal Neptune makes me believe that we were fated to go on these pilgrimages together. “Café Astrology” describes the aspect as follows:

“The trine and sextile aspects between the Sun and Neptune in synastry are more likely to feature the more positive, stimulating interactions outlined above (you can read those here). There is a level of forgiveness and mercy in the chemistry between you. You may share your dreams together with a sense of freedom. Tolerance exists between the two of you, which is a very soothing and settling quality.”

There is no one that I like to travel with more than my Vegas friend. We just get along and don’t put any expectations on each other. It’s the easiest friendship I have ever had.

Anyway, I go in fifteen days from today. I’m thrilled to know that the stars seem to be lining up in my favor in advance of my trip. The US House of Representatives passed a spending bill last night that will delay a government shutdown, so I don’t have to worry about what will happen with the TSA agents at the airport (I’ve traveled once before during a shutdown and it was nightmare). MGM Resorts has recovered almost completely from the computer hack that paralyzed its rewards program (the one that pays for my deluxe accommodations). As long as the Culinary Union that staffs most of the strip hotels doesn’t go on strike as they are threatening to do, everything should work out as planned, and my Pisces friend and I will be able to enjoy this “escape” as much as we’ve enjoyed all the other times we’ve met up in Sin City.

I’m counting on it. C’mon universe — don’t let me down!
