Fortuna Redux (source: Coin Talk)

I was just looking around for a photo to illustrate a post that I was intending to write about Chiron’s retrograde return to my sixth house around October 12. The word “redux” was on my mind as I was considering what might happen when the asteroid slips back into that part of my chart. I Googled the word and discovered that there was a minor Roman deity named Fortuna Redux who appeared on the back of coins. However, what really surprised me was that the altar of Fortuna Redux was dedicated on October 12. Weird, huh?

Anyway, Chiron will return to my sixth house for about six months. Both the asteroid and the sixth house are associated with the notion of “service,” which is interesting because I manage the service end of a huge recreation facility with more than five thousand members. I got this job while Chiron was in my sixth house and I’ve been a key player in changing the way that we deliver service across the whole organization. I do have some interesting ideas about how we can do a better job to improve the experience of our members in the long-term, and that includes making some major changes to the job that I do. My manager was very receptive to my suggestions and let me know that there is a possibility that these changes could be implemented in the future.

Now I’m wondering if this might happen sooner rather than later. Chiron’s “redux” into my sixth house of service might actually coincide with a “return to fortune” as my position evolves into something else altogether.

I’m going to pay attention to this transit. In a way, I am the “Chiron” of my workplace: the wise old guy who teaches everyone else what to do. The mythology of the asteroid does resonate with me, and Chiron is personalized in my chart and the chart of everyone born near my birthday because of the unique configuration it formed with both Uranus and Pluto at that time. I do feel Chiron’s transits acutely, even more than most Mars and Jupiter transits.

This is an interesting twist of fate. I’m sure I’ll have much more to say about it in the not-too-distant future!
