The sun enters my eleventh house tomorrow just a couple of hours after Mars vacates that part of my chart. “Café Astrology” offers the following prediction for the four-week transit:

“The Sun illuminates your sector of friends, groups, and dreams coming true for the next month or so. It’s a sociable sector of your chart, and that’s exactly how you are feeling — happy, lighthearted, and social. Group affiliations capture your attention. Connections can be made now and networking pays off. Being part of a community or circle of friends and building your social network is important to you at this time. This is a rather happy, goal-oriented cycle. A lively agenda is promised, you’re attracting quite a bit of interest, and your energy for making contact with others is high. A stronger sense of community is with you during this cycle. Relationships take on a fun, if impersonal, tone now. Activities with children increase. You are more stimulated by all that is unconventional during this cycle, and your ideas are original and progressive now. This is a time to follow your dreams and ideals, and to plant a seed in the form of a wish for the future.”

Of course, I read the word “agenda” and immediately thought of this beautiful intreciatto leather agenda I saw on the Bottega Veneta website. But I suppose that’s the sun in my tenth house talking. I told myself that I wasn’t going to spend any more money before my Vegas trip, and somehow I found myself in the possession of a new Bottega Veneta messenger bag, a pair of intreciatto leather gloves, a lightweight Missoni jacket, a Missoni polo shirt, six pairs of Missoni socks and a big bottle of Tom Ford’s Grey Vetiver.

Nevertheless, I’ve got a bunch of money saved for my trip which is exactly eight weeks from today. I’m going to go to the bank before work this morning to buy some American money so that I don’t spend my nest egg on more frivolous items that I really don’t need. And I’m going to take the advice of “Café Astrology” and get out and about a little more over the next four weeks. The weather is cooling down a bit in this part of the world and I’m far more eager to go places where I can show off my fabulous new purchases.

I love this time of year! When I was a kid, this ingress of the sun into my eleventh house corresponded with going back to school: something that I truly enjoyed. Even then I was eager to get away from my family after being cooped up in a house with them all summer long. Absence makes the heart grow fonder, right?

Anyway, I’m already feeling a change in the air because it’s getting cooler at night where I live now that the nights are getting longer. But I’m also feeling this shift in the stars and the promise of something new. I’m optimistic about my future and ready to have a “happy, lighthearted and social” month. If I had an agenda, I’d commit those words to paper. But because I don’t, I’ll just declare my intentions to the universe right here and right now. I’m ready to have some fun!
