I currently have the progressed moon transiting my tenth house alongside the sun and Venus. Good things are happening to me as far as my career is concerned, and that makes perfect sense considering those planetary placements. Nevertheless, I was just looking forward to see if anything else exciting is happening in my horoscope in the not-too-distant future, and I came across a few interesting discoveries.

In just over a year from now, the progressed moon will enter my eleventh house. “The Dark Pixie Astrology,” a site that posts terrific interpretations of progressions, has this to say about the upcoming progression:

“After spending time with the Progressed Moon in the Tenth House, all about your career, your focus shifts to your friendships and more altruistic endeavors with the Progressed Moon in the Eleventh House.

You may want to spend more time with friends, making friends, and just be around people, so joining a group or organization can come about.

Being around other people may be much more comfortable to you now than being alone, and you feel you can express yourself better in a group than by yourself or among a few intimate acquaintances.

Being able to open up more in your friendships emotionally will help strengthen them for a long time to come. Helping humanity through charitable work may become a desire as you become more socially conscious and possibly pick up a cause or two.

You could find yourself becoming more interested in unusual subjects, modern technology, and futuristic initiatives. Your mind isn’t really comfortable staying within your normal parameters and wants to break out.

Your hopes and wishes, both personally and for the world at large, could be something you want to make reality.”

What’s interesting to me is that by the time this shift occurs, progressed Mars will have joined Mercury in my sixth house. Not only that, my second Saturn return will be just around the corner.

I’m optimistic about all these changes. Despite a few bumps along the road, my career trajectory has improved substantially over the past few months. What’s more, for the last few years I’ve worked for a charity that has also been my home-away-from-home for the last three decades: the YMCA. The relationships that I’ve made at work make me want to go to work every day.

I don’t believe that I will feel different when my second Saturn return arrives. I’m a Capricorn who appreciates the slow and steady nature of Saturn and the changes it brings. I’m also looking forward to having progressed Mars in my sixth house of service because I actually oversee the “service” side of the organization. Having the planet of energy and initiative in that part of my chart bodes well. But what I’m really looking forward to is this shift of the moon. I’d be thrilled to have a more dynamic social life. Two decades ago, my social life revolved around the gym. Even though I work there now, I still consider many of the people I see there to be my friends — both my coworkers and the members. Perhaps I’ll build some stronger, more-personal relationships with some of those people when the progressed moon enters my eleventh house.

I’m also intrigued by the notion that I might be “more interested in unusual subjects, modern technology, and futuristic initiatives” when this shift occurs. I do believe that my talents might lead me into a different role at work. I’m already facilitating changes to the way that the organization does business because I’m not afraid of technology like so many other people my age. I’m not ready to staff the building with robots, but I’m also not going to dismiss the possibility that we can find better ways of doing things. This forecast makes me believe that I could be the person to lead this charge.

I guess I’ll find out soon enough. When I revisit this post in a year from now, it’s likely that I’ll have a better idea of what is on the horizon for me. Stay tuned until then!
