In a few hours from now I will be getting recertified to lead fitness classes. I’m not too worried about the process because I attended my first certification workshop thirty-seven years ago this week. What’s more, I’m just a few weeks away from the twenty-fifth anniversary of the first certification workshop I attended to teach indoor cycling classes. I can do this stuff in my sleep.
Of all my accomplishments in life, this is right at the top of the list. I am immensely proud of keeping up with fitness for the last four decades. I can’t really think of anything else that I’ve dedicated myself to as thoroughly as this sideline. Of course, I’m a Capricorn with a Cancer moon. Theoretically, I should have a sense of “permanence” in most of the things I do. Despite the fact that I like to do a lot of different things at once (my natal Mercury in Sagittarius is responsible for that), I haven’t had a lot of jobs over the course of my lifetime, and I’ve certainly stuck it out for years and years at many of those jobs.
Anyway, like a Capricorn with a Cancer moon, I’ve been rather disciplined lately because I want to have a lot of money to spend when I go to Las Vegas in October. But I’m going throw caution to the wind and take myself out this afternoon. I not only deserve a break, but I deserve a celebration for my accomplishments. I’m going to go the casino for beer and nachos! Maybe I’ll get lucky, too. Perhaps the universe will reward me for all my hard work, or maybe I’ll just have a good time.
All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy, right?
