Blurred Vision (source: iris.ca)

Neptune’s station at the end of June brought it within fifteen minutes of forming an exact square with my natal Mercury. Since that time, it’s only moved another fifteen minutes. Now it’s about half-a-degree from forming an exact square to my third-house Mercury. Neptune moves so slowly that I should still be feeling this aspect for quite some time. But am I? “Café Astrology” describes the rare transit as follows:

“This transit can point to lack of clarity and objectivity. You might make embarrassing errors, neglect important details, or you could carry some delusions now. It may be difficult for others to understand you or you might be communicating in such a way that you are not clear. You are more imaginative now, and easily swayed by the opinions of others. You can be highly creative and inspired under this influence, but you could also be overly sensitive, touchy, or impractical now. You might find it especially challenging to follow routines, to concentrate or focus on monotonous tasks or work, and to focus on academic subjects that require attention to detail or rote learning.”

To be honest, I’m not feeling that way at all. With the sun, Mercury and Venus in my tenth house, I’m feeling as if I’m at the top of my game. Even while recovering from a summer cold that has torn through my place of work, I still feel mentally strong and grounded in reality.

On that note, Neptune is not personalized in my horoscope. It’s also currently transiting my sixth house: its weakest position in a chart. So maybe this is one of those outer-planet transits that I should ignore. On that note, my computer-generated forecast on astro.com didn’t even bring up the transit. Maybe the universe is trying to tell me something by not telling me something. Hmmm . . .

Anyway, I’m going to try to be sure that I am seeing everything clearly while this transit occurs. I’m also going to see if I can force myself to be “highly creative and inspired” during this transit because I haven’t felt that way for a long, long time. Perhaps a new writing project is in my stars while Neptune is preparing to slip back into my fifth house of creativity.

Stranger things have happened . . .
