Well, the beautiful Bottega Veneta bag that I bought the other day for a song has finally shipped. It will arrive next week while the sun, Mercury and Venus are all transiting my tenth house simultaneously.
I’m not the kind of person who wears status symbols simply because they are status symbols. I rarely wear anything with a logo on it (I suppose my Tom Ford underwear is an exception to that rule, although barely anyone else ever sees my underwear). But I do take a lot of pleasure in being surrounded by beautiful things; I’m a Capricorn with Libra rising, after all.
Nevertheless, I’m going pay attention to what else makes me feel “above it all” over the next couple of weeks. Whatever I can do to bolster my ego through genuine achievement should be good for my soul at the moment. This is a time to take stock of whatever I’m doing right so that I can continue to ascend the proverbial mountain that a Capricorn like me chooses to climb every day of his life.
I am curious about how Venus’ upcoming retrograde in my tenth house will affect my relationship with the notion of “status.” The planet entered my tenth house in late May and won’t leave that part of my chart until October. I’m not sure if I should be expecting setbacks during this interesting time, or if I am simply going to be revisiting issues associated with my ruling planet (my decadent spending habits, for instance).
Anyway, it’s an interesting time for me. The knowledge I accrue by using this blog as a journal to observe how planetary transits affect me in real time is something that money can’t buy. Curiously, more and more traffic is driven to my blog by people who are looking for a second opinion on how particular astrological events might affect them. We can all read the textbook interpretations of these transits online, but there is tremendous value in understanding how they actually manifest themselves in real life. I feel like I’m contributing something to the art of astrology when I put in my two cents. It’s one of those things that makes me feel “above it all.”
So stay tuned for more discussions about me and what makes me so special over the next couple of weeks! What could be more compelling than that?
