Star Struck Style

Transiting Venus opposes my natal Mars tomorrow evening just a few hours before the new moon arrives in my ninth house. “Café Astrology” offers this interpretation of the aspect:

“When you try to be friendly, you seem to miss the mark. Attempting to satisfy romantic needs and assertive/sexual needs simultaneously can be challenging. Your romantic sensibilities and your desires are at odds with one another, and problems (especially misunderstandings) in romantic and sexual relationships may result. Passions run high. Jealousies are possible. Impulsive decisions affect your finances and/or established relationships. You could stir up problems in order to fulfill a need for excitement.”

I am worried that “a need for excitement” could have me behaving like an idiot. I’d like to use the power of this new moon in my ninth house to focus on expanding my horizons (and that can include doing more things that excite me), but I was already worried that it opposes my natal Mercury by about a single degree. There is a tremendous potential for my words to rub people the wrong way this weekend.

I probably need to avoid doing anything reckless, and I definitely need to avoid being reckless with the way I communicate. Thankfully, I get off from work early in the afternoon on Saturday and I don’t go back again until Monday afternoon. These events will be at their most-influential while I’m in bed on Saturday night/Sunday morning.

For that reason, I’m going to resolve to keep my thoughts to myself as much as I can this weekend until I get off this cosmic roller coaster. That might be easier than it sounds with a new moon occurring in Gemini, but it is a wise strategy considering the current state of my chart. I can still fulfill my “need for excitement” with my mouth shut.
