I noticed that my progressed moon is only about five minutes away from an exact opposition with my natal Mars, so I went poking around the internet to see what everyone else has to say about this rare event. What I found was surprising. There were old-school interpretations that practically warned me to not leave my house. There were modern interpretations that focused on anxiety and restlessness. And there was this prediction from “Café Astrology” that resonated with my expectations of what the progression is supposed to bring:
“You sometimes have to make your move, even though your heart isn’t fully behind it. Having mixed feelings about your actions doesn’t help with follow through, so it may be time to make your judgments based on outward analysis alone and do what you have to, despite misgivings, letting your gut catch up to it later.”
I get that, especially the part about “letting your gut catch up.” It’s interesting that the progressed moon is currently in my tenth house alongside transiting Mars and transiting Venus. Those planets reside in the fourth house of my natal chart: the house associated with the moon and “gut” feelings. There is an interesting tug of war playing out in my chart between Mars, Venus and the progressed moon, and all of the resulting oppositions occurring (or about to occur) in the fourth and tenth houses of my horoscope.
Nevertheless, I do have a Cancer moon and a fourth-house conjunction of Mars and Venus in my chart, so trusting my gut is something I do implicitly. I don’t often find myself making judgments on “outward analysis alone,” so this might be a challenge for me.
I’m going to pay attention to this progression as the dynamics in my workplace are changing day by day. I’m also going to look into what happens when the progressed moon opposes my natal Venus, because that progression is right around the corner. It’s going to be interesting to see how this all works out. Stay tuned for more updates!
