June 8 is Joan Rivers’ birthday.

I miss Joan Rivers! I’ve never felt a deeper affinity with any other celebrity. One of my biggest regrets was not waiting for her at a local meet-and-greet because I thought it would be too much trouble. I had this idea in my head that we would meet again someday, so I wasn’t in a hurry to wait for her alongside the other plebes gathering near the stage door at one of her shows. But knowing that she once tried to pronounce my name on TV always brings a smile to my face. I’ve probably told everyone I know that story before, so I won’t go into it again. I’m pretty sure that I’ve discussed it somewhere on this blog.
