The sun moves into my ninth house tomorrow. I’m not a big fan of ninth house transits when a bunch of planets occupy that part of my chart simultaneously, but that won’t be the case over the next few weeks. Venus is way ahead of the sun, and Mercury is far behind it. For some reason, that configuration feels like home to me. The three planets were spaced out in that manner when I was born.
But I digress! When the sun transits the ninth house, feeling a little more “out there” should be de rigueur. “Café Astrology” offers this prediction for what to expect at this time:
“For the next month or so, your focus turns outward, away from the more personal concerns that have occupied your thoughts in the last months. More than any other time during the year, you are feeling most adventurous and willing to take a leap of faith. This is a cycle in which you seek a higher meaning to your life, and/or seek out new experiences that take you beyond the here and now, and beyond the mundane details of day-to-day life. Anything that broadens your experiences attracts now. A lack of superficiality finds you straight to the point, interested in the truth of things. It would be wise for you to consider scheduling a vacation, adventure of sorts, or a course that expands your mind. These don’t have to happen now, but taking the time to recognize your needs for escaping the daily grind, taking a few risks, and feeding your spirit for self-expression through some form of adventure or higher learning, will help you to feel good about yourself. The only caution with this cycle is that you could lose touch with everyday affairs and important details.”
Even though the sun doesn’t move into my ninth house for another day, I already feel as if I’ve entered this new phase. My schedule is not-so-routine over the next several weeks, and that’s going to force me out of my comfort zone. I’ve already accepted the fact that I’m going to have to put a lot of faith into my ability to adapt to changing circumstances, and I’m encouraged that I’m feeling this way at a time of year when it’s easier for me to change up my routine. The daily grind doesn’t seem like such a grind.
How do you handle ninth house transits? Are you eager to take a leap of faith when the sun enters this part of your chart, or do you feel anxious and out-of-sorts like I often do when that part of my chart is crowded with planets?
